"At the end of February 2020 we could see what was happening in China, what was happening in Spain and in fact in Washington state there was a care home which lost about 30 residentsin a week and we could see this invidious virus spreading around the world and we were absolutely certain that it was coming in our direction. At the beginning of March the senior teambasically said “look we’re going to have to go into battle stations” because this could get quite dangerous quite quickly. So we set up a ‘war room’ and put a couple of our best leadersto concentrate on logistics. So initially we were looking at medication supply lines, we were looking at PPE. If we were going into some form of lockdown, how were we going to make surethat our most vulnerable people have got access to food and just make sure that we communicate, communicate, communicate so that people realise they are being supported and thatwe are in this together.” Mark Adams, CEO, Community Integrated Care
